Kelly Babraj, coach

A native of Southern California with over 30 years of coaching experience, Kelly Babraj has worked with athletes of all ages in multiple sports including rowing, swimming, cycling, triathlon, and cross country skiing. She is an accomplished club, collegiate, and National team coach, having produced Olympic and World Champion athletes as well as collegiate Division I conference championship and NCAA medalist teams. She was also named conference “Coach of the Year” several times while coaching at UCLA and USC.

As an athlete, Kelly was a high school team captain and all-league basketball player and swimmer at Palos Verdes High, and at age 16 was the first female lifeguard ever hired at Newport Beach. She competed in road and track cycling and won several triathlons including Malibu, Yuma, and the USTS Bonelli Lake Series.

Kelly was the captain of the rowing team at her alma mater UCLA, where she led her crew to a Collegiate National Championship title. After graduation she was selected to attend the U.S National Team Development camp and went on to win a gold medal at the U.S. Olympic Festival.

After retiring from serious athletics Kelly won several medals, including gold, at the Master’s National Championships in Cross Country skiing.

Kelly and her husband Zenon live in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA with their two children.
